Faith Exploration

The Faith Exploration group will meet on Monday, November 25, at 5:00 pm on Zoom.

This will be our last discussion of The Fourth Quarter, a time to bring up anything you particularly liked or disliked about the book that you’d like to share with the group and to bring up questions.  Also a time to share any kind of summary you may have created that you’d like to share with the group like Liz did last Monday.

WinterFest Parade Coming to VPC!  Cookie and Gingerbread Elves Needed

Vashon’s annual WinterFest parade and celebration is coming to town on Saturday, December 7.  The parade starts at 5:00 at the Chamber of Commerce and concludes at 5:30 in front of our church for the tree lighting with Santa.  FYI, Vashon Highway will be closed between 171st (Ober Park) and 178th (Vashon Theatre) from 4:30 – 7:30 PM.

We’ll be handing out hot cocoa and cider along with Christmas goodies (cookies, gingerbread, brownies, etc.) on the lawn and need some elves to help with baking, setup, and staffing the serving table.  A signup sheet is at the church–please consider how you can help support this fun-filled Christmas community event!

Hanging of the Greens

We will begin decorating the church for Christmas on Tuesday, November 26 starting at 10:00 am.  Volunteers are needed to come early to “fluff” the greens for hanging.  More details will be provided at the Sunday worship service.

Theology Pub Tomorrow

Because next Thursday is Thanksgiving, Theology Pub will meet tomorrow, November 21 at 5:00 pm at Camp Colvos.

Book Club

VPC Book Club will meet on Friday, November 22 at 6:00 pm at Lindsay Hofman’s house (21107 Westside Highway).  After a pot luck meal we will discuss “The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot”, by Marianne Cronin.

New Members Group

A group for those wishing to explore membership at VPC will begin in January.  Please let Pastor Leigh or Bob Spangler know if you are interested, and what times work or do not work for you.

Sanctuary Flowers

There is a sign-up sheet in the East Room for sanctuary flower donations for November and December.  If you provide flowers as a memorial, please let the office staff know so that can be included in the bulletin.
